*Answer:* Earth Hour is an annual movement organised by the World Wide Fund of Nature *(WWF)* . It's main purpose is constituted a switching off lights for an hour to reduce power consumption.

_*2. How is the generation of electricity impacting the environment?*_

*Answer:* The discovery of electricity played an important role in the industrial revolution. We all know that in our daily life the electricity more important. For produce of electricity peoples take many of the stages. About 60% of the world's electricity is produced by non-renewable resources like burning of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gases, oil etc. By this process many of the greenhouse gas produce which is harmfull  to environment.

*Answer:* Earth Hour was initiated as a campaign in Sydney, Australia on 31 March 2007. Over 2.2 million people and 2100 organization give support to Earth Hour by turn off their light for an hour.

*_5. What is connect2earth? Why was it launched?*_

*_Answer:_* The WWF launched an online platform called *'connect2earth'* in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature *(IUCN)* and Nokia, in 2008. This website is launched because to individual to express their concerns about biodiversity and nature searches lack of freshwater resources and renewable energy, land degradation of natural habitat. In this site we give our opinion or express our concern about any  kind of topic.

*Answer:*  In 2009, hundreds of thousands of Indians showed their unprecedented by joining the movement Earth Hour. On 27 March 2010, light at famous location in India such as India Gate in New Delhi, Gateway of India in Mumbai , Brigade road in Bangalore, Christ Church in Shimla, Marine Drive in Cochin and several others were switched off.

*Answer*: Two contribution of Earth Hour :- (i). Solar-powered lights were installed in electricity-deprived Satjelia village of West Bengal.     

(ii). The World Wide Fund for Nature created the world's first Earth Hour forest in Uganda in 2013, as a measure to rebel against 6000 hectares of deforestation that takes place every month.

*Answer:* The effectiveness of earth hour is protecting Earth from global warming was questioned by its critics. It is pointed out that an hour of darkness is the power- generating plants are working even during that hour. The decrease in power consumption for an hour always lead to a sudden increase in power consumption as individuals go back to their daily routine.
